My Nephew!

After
Before
Very eventful week!! Josh was dropped off at the MTC and...........Shelby and Brad had their baby!! Their baby boy, Elliot Thomas Weiss. Born June 21, 2012 in Las Vegas, NV at 6:19pm, weighing 6lbs 6oz. Very cute and precious boy. Mom, Dad and I woke up early and headed to St. George to watch Matilda play basketball, then we got the call that her dilation was at a four, so from St George we headed to Vegas. Most of you know, that's a two hour drive. We made a couple stops on the way in, since, my mother having gone through this already said it'd be a several more hours until she would start pushing. By all means, we did rush to get there though! We got there and Shelby was in a lot of pain. Her contractions were worsening with time. Brad was sitting in a chair just patiently waiting. I think he realized after the first couple hours of Shelby's contractions, moaning, and yelling, that he just needed to be there, sitting quietly not asking questions or talking, unless Shelby said otherwise. Brad did a great job! Shelby finally dilated to a five and the nurse and doctor gave her her epidural. She was a totally different person after that! It was very funny! But we were all glad she was out of the pain! Then probably an hour or two later it was time. I think she was in labor for about 12-15 hours. And finally the blessing of her healthy baby boy arrived. It was incredible to be there and support her and Brad! Elliot is such a cute baby! So I am now an Aunt of two, one niece and one nephew! And I'll be an Aunt of three in a week!! Hillary is due July 3rd, but we'll see how that goes! She is having another girl, so two nieces and a nephew! Incredible how happy you are with families and the continuance of the growing love for each other!

Bid thee Farewell..

It's been an emotional week! And it's also been a fantastic week! It was a great surprise to have my Uncle come down over the weekend. He came especially for Josh's farewell talk. So, on Saturday we went shooting and bowling! We had a lot of fun! Josh did amazing! He didn't miss one clay pigeon! I did pretty good myself. We all did well!
As I've already written, my brother received his endowment last weekend and this weekend he was set apart! On Father's day, my dad spoke as well as Josh. They did such a great job. My dad spoke on Father's and Josh spoke on how father's prepare their sons to go on their missions. It was amazing! I cried the entire time. I couldn't help it, it was so bittersweet. I love them both very much! These next two years will be rough, but they will also be great and will go by fast!

Long time..no blog...

It's been a long time since my last blog! I thought I would update since I'm getting ready to hit the road again! It's been almost an entire year since I started blogging. I mainly starting blogging because of the traveling I do for four months and this was an easier way to keep everyone updated. But now, it's been more than that and I enjoy doing it. So you'll probably get both! Work and fun!! Who doesn't love that?!
Well a lot has happened over the past few months so I'll just post some pics and a few refreshing comments of what went down! I started school back up in January. I go to UNLV. It was a great semester. I have about three more semesters of school, maybe less and I'm done!! With working over the summers I've had to take time off, so it's taking a bit longer than everyone else. Then February..not much happened this month, that I can remember that's worth writing down. March was a little tough, had some personal struggles in life but am overcoming them. Oh and in February-March there was a fair in Texas that my Dad and I went to for work. That was a lot of fun. We had Dallin Seely, X-ray, and Sam help us work. Then April, we had the Logandale Clark County Fair. The weather was decent this year. Thursday through Saturday it was cold and a little windy and rainy, but then Sunday it was gorgeous and hot! I also had spring break in April. I went to Virgina to visit my sister. I spent a week there. I got to spend time with Hillary, Ryan and my niece Zoie. We had a ton of fun and did a lot too! May, it was my sister Hillary's birthday, she turned 23 and my birthday, I turned 22 and then my brothers Josh birthday, he turned 19! Pretty crazy!! So it was a birthday month! Matilda got inducted into NJHS, so I went and supported her in that. My parents went to Hawaii for a vacation, lucky them. Then, I also filed to be a subsitutue teacher back in November and got the go in March to start subbing. I've been substitute teaching for a few months now too and that's been a ride! Didn't do a whole lot for my birthday..went out with some friends and to a nice restraunt, swimming, chilling. I also had finals in May, pretty much nailed all of them!! Oh and over the past eight months, I have two sisters pregnant! Hillary is pregnant with her second, it's a girl and she is suppose to be due on July 3rd but who knows what really will happen. And then Shelby is pregnant with her first, its a boy and she is June 24! Like a week apart! It's crazy!! Now into June. My brother got his mission call awhile back, April sometime. He got called to serve for twenty-four months as a full time missionary in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Nicaragua, Managua South Mission, spanish speaking! We were all pretty excited!! He reports to the Provo MTC on June 20! Only 10 more days! Ahh! He just went through the temple to receive his endowments yesterday, Saturday, June 9. He is all grown up, so sweet! So, this is pretty much life as of lately. My personal life has been a bit of a rollercoaster lately..little struggles here and there, but the summer will be a good time for me to find myself again! Keep moving Forward! Until next blog, Hupo Meone!!

Happy Birthday Dozer!!

Today, December 9, 2011 is my brothers 12th Birthday. Happy Birthday Nathaniel!! Now I know in the title it says Dozer and some of you may think, 'What?! Dozer?! What does that mean?' Well I'll tell you! When Nathaniel started to crawl as a baby he would 'bulldoz' through everything. Toys, buckets...anything, he would run himself right into it until he came out the other side. He just bulldozed through. So, mainly my grandpa and parents came up with the nickname, Dozer. And he answers to only Dozer and Nathaniel. Even kids at his school call him Dozer. It's pretty funny. I wonder what it'll be like when he is older......."And..Dozer for a touchdown"... "Elder Dozer"... "Dozer hun can you get that"... "Hey Dozer, I mean Daddy"... Ahaha Just kidding, I don't think it'd go that far!
So for Nathaniel's Birthday I baked him a cake! It's a football cake. He loves football, so it fit. And he said he wanted a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. So that's what he got!! It didn't take very long to do, but the stupid icing was rough. I'm getting better with my baking skills and making do with what I have. Anyway, so here are some pictures of his cake! Enjoy!! Happy 12th Birthday, Dozer!!

Skipping is just jumping for joy, step after step...

Justin came out to my place to spend time with my family and I over the weekend. It was a lot of fun. We played xbox and pool, watched movies, made food, just had a lot of fun. We tried staying busy and then we couldn't think of anything else to do. So we brainstormed. Then we finally came up with the idea of going to the resevoir. No worries, we dressed warm. Then we jumped in the jeep and headed for the resevoir...which is like 2 miles away. When we approached the resevoir we pick out the perfect spot to stop. It was a great view of the sun setting and the resevoir. The water was really low so that was kind of a bummer, but it was still fun. We skipped rocks pretty much the entire time we were there. Justin is much better than I am. He was skipping all sorts of rocks. I guess I shouldn't say rocks, they were more really super hard dirt clusters. Anyway, we had little competitions, he won. BUT he never told me all the rules, so that's part of why he won. Hehehe. Then it got super cold and our noses were going to fall off, so we left and had hot cider after. It was a ton of fun and we definitely enjoyed spending time together.....

The Christmas Spirit!!

It's the Christmas season already!! Even though the temperature outside is still in the seventies, sorta!! Gotta love the desert Christmas'...Anyway, the holiday has already been filled with event galore! Mom busted out all the decorations, like four days after Thanksgiving! I give her a hand, because everyone else in the world put there Christmas decorations up before Thanksgiving even happened!! Crazy! Well most of the family helped with setting up the decorations. Dad and Nathaniel put up the Christmas lights, Matilda and I set the tree up, and I decorated it, and Mom pretty much finished the house with the rest of the decorations. Brad and Shelby decorated their little place down stairs. It's a nice, classy, holiday look!! The house and the family in it look amazing! Christmas will be so much fun this year! The entire family is coming out! So that means, Grandma Grandpa, Uncle Matt, Hillary, Ryan, Zoie, Josh, and then our family at the house, of course! It'll be a full house!! Yay! So exciting! Oh and I can't forget Tess and Bently. We already dressed Tess up for the holiday!! She enjoys the costume..at least we think she does. She probably just loves the attention she gets with it.

Anyway, Shelby works at a sandwich shop in the town and her boss asked if she could paint the windows for Christmas. She said, "Sure, if you like stick figures! I'll ask my sister if she will help out." So Shelby texted me like two seconds after and asked if I could help. I was nervous, but I knew it would be a fun experience. Shelby and I brainstormed some ideas and made the decision.
We did a stained glass Nativity scene and a Santa Clause jumping with a sandwich! They turned out pretty cute. I drew the outlines, and Shelby colored in. It was a great team effort. And turns out the boss loved it as well as everyone else. It was a lot of fun, even though it took us a few hours to do it. You would think window painting is easy and a quick job, not really... well, for me it wasn't.

Now a little off the Christmas topic, Justin just had a show! They lost their drummer, so they've been out of commision for a little bit. (So if you know any drummers who play pop/rock music let me know!!) But they had a friend who just plays for fun fill in for this show. And it was just amazing!! It was the Gibson Showcase at the Palace Station. The Gibson Showcase means, every band that performs, plays all Gibson equipment. So, Justin got to play a fifteen hundred dollar guitar!! Crazy!! He rocked it! Anyway, this a photo of the band that night. My video wouldn't upload, so a picutre will suffice. Hope you enjoy it!!
Above: Justin playing the guitar solo to Say You're Mine.  Left to Right: The Fours J's! Justin on guitar and vocals, Jay on drums, Jared on vocals, Jerry on bass guitar.
